What is Adhesion?

Adhesion measures the ability of one substance to stick fast to another. In terms of roof coatings, adhesion is an extremely important category because it helps to determine how durable the coating will be. If a coating is going to provide you with value, then it needs to be able to adhere firmly to the roof’s surface, without being undermined by long-term exposure to the elements. The higher a roof coating’s adhesion, the stronger the coating will be—and, thus, the more reliable it will be in the long run.
