What is Elasticity?

Elasticity, or elongation, measures the ease with which a coating can be stretched. For instance, if the temperature dramatically changes in a short period of time, then a coating needs to be able to grow or shrink along with the roof. If the roof’s fluctuations cause the roof coating to weaken, then it won’t provide you with the same level of protection and may need to be replaced. If you want to avoid the need for recoating in the near-future, then finding a coating with a very high level of elasticity should be one of your priorities.
